Does asthma get worse in a higher altitude?

At first, it will most definately be a little harder to breathe, as it is for anyone in higher altitude than usual. I've been to denver and it really isnt too bad (and i live at sea level). You wont be able to even notice it after a week! This is coming from someone who is reaally sensitive to high altitudes. :)
